Album Info:I chased Steamtown's 2016 Santa Train between Carbondale and Scranton. It's billed as "Christmas in a small town", and it features stops in small towns along the ex-D&H trackage that runs between Carbondale and Scranton. At each stop the town's children are allowed to board the train and meet with Santa himself! Then it's on to the next small town down the line. The 2016 edition is noteworthy because it's steam-powered once again after being diesel-powered for the last 15 years. Steamtown's Baldwin Locomotive Works 0-6-0 switch engine provided the motive power, and this is also a rare foray of #26 outside Scranton city limits. The last time #26 made it up to Carbondale was 1998. For me, it was a rare opportunity to photograph this beautifully-restored steam locomotive in some not-often-visited locations.

Description:  Bridge is ex-D&H. You can see part of the Waymart wind generation farm on the top of the Moosic Ridge beyond town. A bit ironic that a town that took its name from anthracite mining sits in close proximity to a much newer form of energy generation.
