Album Info:Here is a six-page article by Colonel Howard G. Hill entitled "K4 vs. J-1 In 1931: The View From The Cab." It was published originally in the October 1968 issue of "Trains" magazine, pages 41-46. Also included are six pages of data tables that were published originally in Colonel Hill's (1972) book entitled "Riding The Limiteds' Locomotives." These tables provide performance data from 1931 comparing the Pennsylvania Railroad's "Broadway Limited" with the New York Central's "20th Century Limited." Colonel Hill is probably the only man ever to have ridden in the locomotive cabs of both the "Broadway Limited" and the "20th Century Limited" from New York City to Chicago in the space of one month! These pages provide an enticing summary of his adventures.
