PRR 5547, T-1, c. 1946 |
Description: |
Duplexes. Here is a duplicate 35mm B&W slide showing Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5547, a T-1 (4-4-4-4) "Duplex" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during August of 1946, later rebuilt and reclassified as a T-1A, and retired in January of 1956 after just ten years of revenue service. Given that it is pulling a string of gondolas, perhaps this is a test run of a newly-produced locomotive? The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded.
