This sharp looking 2-8-2 Mikado started out as Chicago, Milwauke & St Paul #8604 but was later renumbered in 1938 as MILW 319. After nearly 34 years of service, the loco was retired in December of 1954. Specs - L3 class, 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 27x32" cylinders, engine wt of 320,000 lb and tractive effort of 62,949 lb. This is an Harris photo. No exact date in 1945 was given so an approximate was used. |
