Description:  This good looking USRA heavyweight Mikado was originally built by Alco-Brooks in October of 1918 as CM&StP #8643. It was later in 1938 renumbered to MILW 348. After nearly 35 dedicated years of service, the loco was officially retired and eventually scrapped in September of 1953. Specs - L3 class, 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 27x32" cylinders, engine wt of 320,000 lb and tractive effort of 62,949 lb. This is a Sittig photo.
