The 1196 had been built at Alco’s Schenectady Works in October 1920, was acquired by the Louisiana Eastern in April 1958 and was scrapped here in November 1962 without ever receiving an LERR number. |

Description: |
Former Illinois Central 4-6-2 2037 was on the Louisiana Eastern at Shiloh, Louisiana shortly after it was sold to the LERR in August 1957. The locomotive was built by Alco’s Schenectady Works (43467) in September 1907 as IC 1045, with 75½-inch drivers for mainline passenger service; and it was one of 68 Pacifics rebuilt by the railroad between July 1941 and May 1943 with 61-inch drivers (as the 2030-2097 series) for light freight service. |
