| Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad SD24 504 eastbound at Naperville, Illinois on May 9, 1965, Ektachrome by Chuck Zeiler. This locomotive was built during May 1959 (c/n 25201) on EMD Order 5598 for 16 SD24's (#'s 500-515), the first EMD turbo-charged diesels on the Q, the only SD24's on the Burlington's roster, and eventually, the only SD24's on BN's roster. It became BN 6244 sometime after March 2, 1970 and was retired in June 1982. |
