The Leavenworth Terminal Bridge was opened in 1894 and operated through May 1987, when the last BN train used it. By Christmas the structure was completely dismantled. Built for the Rock Island and Burlington Route, the structure was also used by the CGW. The Rock Island pulled out of town in 1939 while the BN and CNW followed in time. The signal mast points toward the Missouri side, which was called Kirmeyer by the CGW. The small depot has since been restored. |
