The ICG's second Bicentennial GP38 1776 (ex-9503) and GP38-2 9615 head out of New Orleans on the New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal's WESTERN CONNECTION. The train is crossing the drainage canal that seperates the City of New Orleans -- on the right-- from suburban Metairie. The wooden bridge in the background belongs to the Kansas City Southern. As I recall, the purpose of the train was to promote industrial development along the railroad between New Orleans and Baton Rouge. |
