| KCS acquired a large group of these cars painted in the "Retro Belle" scheme in 2007, around the same time as Mike Haverty introduced the Belle scheme on new locomotives. They were intended to run together, which they did for a while. After a while, the Retro Belle cars became free runners, and now you rarely see them in any kind of unit train.
