ATSF 3803
OKLAHOMA CITY OK Aug 21 1982 -- A pair of Santa Fe GP40Xs (3803 and 3802) lead a piggyback train west (compass south) through Burnett. EMD built the GP40X series to test improvements slated for the GP50 and SD50 series. The 3803 was built April 1978. Between July 31 1985 and July 24 1986 it was repainted into failed-merger SPSF colors. It regained its yellow warbonnet before Oct 1 1990. On Sept 22 1995 it was renumbered and patched to BNSF 3033.
