| The BN's former secondary main to Wichita is still in place in southwestern Missouri as far as Carthage although unused. This was once part of the Frisco's Northern Division and hosted the Monett to Wichita section of the Meteor through 1960. By 1985 it was called the 8th Subdivision of BN's Springfield Division and still posted as 40MPH track. BNSF didn't need it though and took it out of service in 1998.
