The very first SDP-45 I ever saw,on train 52, Lancaster,California,in 1967. As Amt engineer in LA, I got to run it twice between LA and Santa Barbara in 1988. The best passenger locomotive on the planet.All Amtrak had to do was buy a couple of hundred of these and I would have been in hog heaven!!!

Great catch! The SDP45s were always a favorite of mine, although I never got to see them in person. Would you be open to letting me use this image in a video I am making on the Coast Starlight service?
