Th local leaves Gratiot after picking up an empty Wabash Boxcar. Gratiot was a busy place in the early 1900's with tracks going to Warren, ILL, Mineral Point, Shullsburg and Janesville! A 1926 employee timetable shows 12 trains scheduled daily!!

I had a deja-vu moment looking at this picture. It reminds me a lot of the MILW in eastern Iowa when I ws a kid. This train could be one running out by Lost Nation along the former main from Green Island to Cedar Rapids. Thanks for posting.
