Here is a photo of Samuel Rea that was included in the "Altoona Area Railroad Pictorial History" edited by Linda White and published in 1996 by The Altoona Mirror, page 13. Photo Caption: "Samuel Rea, who was born in Hollidaysburg in 1855, served as president of the Pennsylvania Railroad from 1913 to 1925. He died in 1929." The world's largest railroad car building and repair facility ~ the PRR's Samuel Rea Shop in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania ~ was named in his honor.
