A CN through freight rests on the former C&NW siding along W. Butte des Morts Beach Rd. at Stroebe, WI on 13 Jul. '18. Train had two locomotives, CN 2267 and CN 5456. This was quite an unusual train, at least to me; the front half was loaded autoracks and back half was tank cars. I've never seen autoracks along here before. Stroebe is a railroad station in Fox Crossing, WI (formerly Town of Menasha, Winnebago Co., WI until 14 Apr. '16 (not Outagamie Co., where Stroebe was erroneously placed on this site)). The former SOO rails, also in use by CN, run parallel to the right. The facility partially visible in the background at right is home to SERVPRO of Appleton, 2235 Northern Rd., Appleton, WI. It has a spur but it does not appear to benefit from rail service. I don't think the occupant before them, Cag Pellets, received rail service either. The facility was once home to Viking Steel, 2225-2235 Northern Rd., Appleton, WI. |
