| Here is page one of a six-page article by Charles Kerr, Jr., entitled "Locomotives Of The Future." It was published originally in the January 1943 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 28. Partially visible here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6100, the S-1 (6-4-4-6) "Big Engine" built in Juniata during January of 1939 and retired in January of 1949 after just ten years of experimental service. |
