Here is page nine of a 22-page article by William Moedinger, Jr., entitled "Railroads Of Pennsylvania." It was published originally in the October 1942 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 20. Bottom Illustration: Shown here is the eighth of 12 plates constituting the "Album of Pennsylvania R.R. Scenery." It's based on a drawing done in 1875 by Fred B. Schell. It was later published and copyrighted in 1882 by Wittemann Brothers of New York City. Caption: "Horse Shoe Curve, Looking West." Note the double-headed "Americans" pulling a six-car passenger train around the Curve on its way to Pittsburgh. |
