On the last day of 1970 the Louisville & Nashville’s southbound PAN-AMERICAN arrived in New Orleans behind U28B 2500 and E8A 796. We don’t know where the GE was added to No. 9, but it was already on when the train arrived in Mobile. Here were the locomotives being serviced at New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal. |
