Louisville & Nashville dual-service GP7 509 was parked at GENTILLY YARD in New Orleans, coupled to FP7 656. The pair had come in on local No. 75 and returned to Mobile on fast freight No. 72. The 509 had been built in February 1953 and was wearing aluminum trucks, something the paint shop at Mobile was adding to dual-service units around this time. The 509 was renumbered 441 in 1965 and then 2333 around 1980, before becoming Seaboard System 2333. |
