Here is the front side of a "Vanishing Vistas" portrait that was published by Lyman E. Cox in 1972. Photo by Mr. Stan Kistler. Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5692 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both are B-1 (C) electrics built in Juniata and rated at 570 horsepower each. #5692 was constructed in December of 1934 and retired in May of 1967 after 33 years of faithful service. In this context, they're awaiting their next assignment at Penn Station in Harrisburg on 10 January 1957. |
