Was this ever an FURX locomotive? If not, how come it has the same paint scheme as many of their motors?

Joe Magruder General No, it wasn't. This is in the second of three groups of 50 SD40-2s that Alstom remanufactured in 2000 for a several year lease on CSX through First Union Rail. While the first group went to FURX, the deal for the second group fell through after some were completed and fully painted. Alstom kept this group and after relettering leased them directly to CSX. CIT Group took the third group and they also went to CSX. 3068 is ex GTW SD40 5929. It was completed by Alstom on Sept. 8, 2000. 7/6/2007 11:30:24 PM
