Album Info:Probably the oldest "in use" freight car I ever caught on film. Pennsylvania Boxcar #498317 was part of an MOW train on a Conrail siding near downtown Findlay, Ohio in 1984. Check out the old top-side Brake wheel.

Description:  Porking out its last years in MOW service. This old Pennsy boxcar was still in pretty good shape.1924 design X29 class boxcar. Pennsy also had a 1928 design. All told Pennsy had more than 29,000 of them built. The second most numerous boxcar of it's time qeriod. N.Y.C. had something in the area of 32,000 boxcars built to it's design. In a similar time period. They were the "per dium" boxcar of that time period.
