PRR 4311, EP-22, c. 1967 |
| Description: |
D-Prints. Here is a print by an unidentified photographer that was taken at the Rockville Bridge near Marysville, Pennsylvania, c. 1967. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #4311 and #4206. Both were built by GM-EMD. #4311 is an EP-22 built as number "5711" in October of 1952, rated at 2,250 horsepower, and renumbered "4311" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. #4206 is an EP-20 built as number "5846" in August of 1947, rated at 2,000 horsepower, and renumbered "4206" in preparation for the merger. In this context, this A-A set is crossing the Bridge with an eight-car passenger train out of Harrisburg bound for Altoona and points West. David's Mountain dominates the distance.
