205 making its pick up
Title:  205 making its pick up
Description:  NS 205 returns from CP Conklin yard after picking up its Taylor connection from Scranton. It will pull down to Johnson, clear, then reverse onto the rest of its train, which is sitting on the Buffalo Runner. The Lackawanna station tower is seen over the first car in the train, and next to it one of the pioneers of railroad communication, the Marconi radio tower, one of the first such installations in the United States. The Kilmer Building is to the right of the train.

Description:  Up the hill a few blocks is where I grew up and my parents still reside. This whole area was a feild of brush and trees when I was a kid and I would come down here and watch the C&W pass through with their Alco T-6's pulling 15 to 20 cars. Most of the grain cars were brought in by the Southern on the north end of town.
